Green fees for non-member £3
Entry fee for Jumbles £2, half of which goes out in winnings!
The fees may well increase next year because the clubs using these facilities may be taking over the running of the green, clubhouse and immediate grounds. Nothing is confirmed at the moment.
When you join the club there is no pressure to commit to taking part in the league or competitions. If you purely want to play as a social member, then that is absolutely fine.
What makes us different?
Ferndene Bowling Club
Everyone is welcome to join Ferndene BC. Our aim is to offer the community of Ryton and the surrounding area the opportunity of playing the sport of amateur lawn bowls on a social and/or competitive basis in an inclusive, friendly environment.
When We Play
Tuesday and Saturday from 12 noon till 2pm. This is a social occasion involving all Ferndene Clubs and any visitors. Teams are drawn from a pot and 6 ends are played.Teams are redrawn and again 6 ends played. Then a third time, making a total of 18 ends played over two hours.
Thursday from 12 till 2pm we run a Jumbles session. All welcome to come and join. Entry fee is £2, of which half the takings are given back out as prizes.
Monday and Wednesday evenings (6-8pm) are when we play the league matches. We now have two leagues there is always a team playing at home and away. If you want to come along and support us at Ferndene Park.
